Which In my opinion is a pretty complete semi-pro dj controller, but I was asking myself if it would be possible to use the kontrol X1, and the S2 simultanosly complementing each other. or plug in a maschine, to the set up (not to the S2), to have extra buttons. Could this be my dream setup ?

    Regards from Guatemala.

I actually have the S2 and maschine mikro and I have the vestax pad one. I held off on buying maschine mikro for 4 months until I learned alot more about traktor pro 2. I’m glad I did because I find they complement each other quite well and both have the same kind of intuitive navigation with the software. I guess that is expected coming from the same company.
In my opinion I would not use the maschine for “extra buttons”…if you mean using it as a midi controller? I think the strength of maschine is with its music production capabilities and ability to make live performances all the more seamless. This would work great with the S2 if you sync them together. If you check on youtube the guys from dubspot have a couple good clips on ways you can use maschine and traktor together.
If you want something for extra buttons you should look into the vestax pad one, midi fighter or a korg. They are cheaper in price and more suitable for midi mapping if that’s what you want to do.

I’m finding that I need to play for my crowd more and need to expand my horizons. I love dropping in a good remix now and again, but because I didnt grow up listening to a lot of Hip-Hop/Top 40, I’m at a decent disadvantage.

For Instance a couple tracks I have under chick tunes are: Dev – Hustle Like a Lady, Nicki Minaj – Your Love, LMFAO – Sexy and I know it, Drake ft T.I. & Swizz Beatz – Fancy. These are just a couple tracks the girls go crazy for in the club when their dropped. I noticed that alot of them are radio friendly too, easy to dance to with a really catchy hook. Not sure what area your in but I check my local radio station playlists (z.103.5 Toronto) regularly to see what tracks are consistently at the top of the list. Its normally a good indicator that you can pull off playing it at a party/club and everyone can jam to the track.

    1. How do I add a mapping to traktor?
    2. When I change the original mapping of my device to a downloaded one, how do I put the original one back? If I ever want to.
    3. Can someone explain how to make a .tsi file of my own? Or at least post a link that gets me there.
    Thanks in advance.

if you use a program like the traktor in the controller manager section in settingsl you can export the tsi and save it to your desktop. Then you can load it back in anytime you want and it will have the same settings as before. When you click export it shows you the options you can select that you want to save for the tsi file.

I use to play the trombone for about 3 years when I was in high school but stopped…..was thinking about it the other day….possibly a reason why today I love playing around with deep/heavy bass lines and loops

does anyone in here use maschine or maschine mikro. I have been thinking about getting it myself. The possibilities look endless and now that fact that it can be combined with Traktor is a +. Would love to hear if anyone has it and how they use it in thier set up
