The above scheudle is actually something I put together last night as I realized how muh time I was wasting udring the week going back and forth trying to do things. I made alist of thigns that I want to work on and how much time I think would be good for me to focus on.

I find I get bored easily and have a shorter attention span so the fact that I can pick and choose somethign to do and set a time to get it done is probably better for the way I work.

Fridays are my break days where I plan to just chill. Watch some documentaries, listen to other poples mixes and Sundays will be my “Fun day” like Terry said where I can do whatever I choose.

Hoping to put all this in affect Monday. I set it up in a chart in excel and kind of put it in to a calender format so I can track week by week what I did and at the end of the month hopefully see noticeable gains and get back more time into my day. I work about 40-45 hours a week full time so its pretty important for me to make sure the time I do have free is used as effectively as possible! Hope this gives you some ideas.

    Oh hey there, lol

The 7 Deadly Sins is complete! I had the idea to make the mix a year ago but my skill level was not up to par to do what I had in mind….that was then…..and this is NOW! Every DJ needs a signature mix!

My new s4 mkII just arrived last week and I love it! Upgraded from the Kontrol S2 MK1. Havent tired it out with Traktor DJ yet as I need a camera connection kit but other than that Its a pretty solid piece of gear. Really like the new transport/cue point pads….very similar to that of the f1. These are much better suited for controllerism than on the Mk1.

but If I already had the s4 would I have upgraded to the MkII….nProbably not

You dont need to route anyting in Traktor. When you open the audio preferences in Maschine, you just select what source you want to use as your sound card (Reloop) and it should automatically assign the ins/outs if not you just select what you need.

+1 for traktor DJ. I used that when I started about two years ago and It really helped speed up my learning curve.

I actually really like them. They look pretty proper! Pre ordered the S4 last night to upgrade my S2 MK1 so the timing is perfect as I was in the market for a 4 channel controller.

Sure they could have added alot more bells and whistles but it is what it is.I suspect we’re going to see more developments coming from the actually software itself which will no doubt add more functionality to the new controller. Will the old models be able to support it? Most likely not right away based off Traktor’s history.

From a business persective I think NI was smart not to include the touch strips as that is what the new X1 MK2 is for.

Following the past path NI released the S4 and then released the S2 (correct me if I’m wrong). Now they released the Z2 2 channel mixer so it stands to reason they would come out w/ a 4 channel mixer. The problem I see with that is the price point. If the Z2 is already $799 a Z4 would probably come in over $1000 and that’s an automatic NO for me.

The S4 is likely being discontinued if you have read the posts and Phil’s column about the recent sale “while supplies last.” So its reasonable to assume the next 4 channel controller will have the touch strips and some of the other new components. I feel bad for anyone who recently bought an S2 or S4 before the announcements.

What do you think is coming next?

I really like your comment of having the next controller with touch strips! Why not right? lol With that said, I see them moving more in the peformance direction…what ever that looks like in the near future. I’ve had my S2 for close to 2 years now and have been patiently waiting for some sneak peaks of their next generation of controllers.
