    What’s even better than the recognition is that I can sit down once a week and download all the songs that I tagged that week, conveniently grouped by artist, album etc…

    I use to physcially write songs down as i heard them on scratch paper and had piles everywhere.

    same story here! but for other songs I get reccommended I just put them in the notes on my iphone. Shazam saved my life!

    You are a Champion Adam :);
    It wasn’t the Track you pointed me to; but; it was the Correct Artist; as when I looked at her other Tracks; there was one called
    ‘On top Of The World’; which is the Actual Track I was after; so that is a Definite Buy; and I can now go to bed Happy 🙂 :);
    Thank You So Much xx

    (For anybody else interested; the Track is ‘Ninca Leece – On Top Of The World’)

    if you have a smart phone have you heard of shazam. When you hear a song you like but dont know what it is you just open the app and it takes about 5 seconds of the song and can give you the title, artist, alumb etc; I use it all the time in a club lol

    I use mixed in key to classify everything by key, and then I use the stars to rate energy(doesnt always have to be related to bpm, cause some songs can have a lower bpm but generate high energy just cause it could be a throw back the whoel crowd can jam to) I also have a seperate playlist that I call “chick tunes”… songs that you can drop that the girls will love and dance to. Cause when you get the girls going on the dancefloor the guys are happy and so is the bar!

    Also read this article by Dj Endo how he uses colour to orgranize songs by mood as well. He has alot of other good tips in there too.

    I bought my pad one on amazon and came in less than 10 days. It was worth the wait. and like Smitten says it is like a brick but lite as a feather. Has velocity and after touch capability as well so you can add alot of punch when triggering effects.

Pretty stoked to start messing around with it. Do you guys agree I made a good choice? Looking forward to the Ean Golden mapping too haha Who else owns an s2!? Btw I would like to thank all of you guys for the input you gave me 🙂

    I’ve had it for abotu two months now and its amazing. I also have Ean goldens mapping and I havent had ay issues with bugs. The only thing I noticed is that everytime you open traktor the cross fader is not in the middle but all the way to the right. This is nt a big deal at all just move it back to the middle. At first the user interface of trkator looks confusing but after a while palying around with you get used to the controls. Look into getting the traktor bible as well if you want to know the program inside adn out!

I work at an accounting firm so as long as I get my job done and attend my meetings, I’m free to do whatever. I actually told my boss the listening to music make me more productive. 🙂

    pretty much do the same thing. Work at a store designer/sales in an office. Get my coffee check my mail, digitial dj tips, dj tech tools and turn up the bass! lol same mentality at work, if I get it done then they are fine with listening to music. pretty nice gig

Or my music DVD collection of which I have about 100. The CD’s are recorded in WAV format. Some juggling of files has made itunes media player search useless unless you know song name. Does any body know of a way to repopulate itunes media information album name, artist name and artwork? Other than starting from scratch and using Apple Lossless, which I kinda leery of ,fearing it may do the same thing as what I have currently.
    Serato has retained my library with few discrepancies, although it was extremely lousy with artwork.

    try looking into “itunes match”…might be of some use but I believe you woudl have to have an i cloud account

    Good – The sound quality is unreal

    Bad – If you have them in for a couple hours they start to irritate my ears

    If you have a mac have you looked at using the xtreme mapping app to help? Just started using it and it is alot easier to navigate traktor’s controller manager.

    I am pretty interested to see if anyone has an answer to your question though, I hate when it skips back its pretty annoying and ruins the mix. I’m sure theres a way

    Silver MacBook Pro 15″ mid-2010. Favourite thing: Exterior design/Ease of use Least favourite: I’ve had it only a year and a half and there seems to be a new model every 6 month for this make. Typical of apple however.
