I got the omnitronic, just waiting on a cartridge now
mr stifffyMemberYeah, I am leaning more towards them I think, they look the image of the tech 12’s also 😀
mr stifffyMemberI use Traktor 2. I started on virtual dj 5-6 years back and found it was limited in quality at the time. I had heard about Traktor and managed to get a light edition (which I found very hard to use) and went back to VDJ for a few months then I had a day where I decided it is time to learn how to use Traktor (couldn’t understand the separate wave forms, was so used to them being in line or side by side). After about an hour I was addicted and I haven’t looked back.
The mapping engine is one of the best I have seen for a DJ program (I like to think outside the box and this REALLY allows me to). The support available from DJTT alone is top to none, I have never even needed to go to native instruments own forum.
The built in effects are more then needed for a DJ and because they are built in you don’t have compatibility issues.
mr stifffyMemberSounds to me from experience that you need to change the audio driver latency.

who doesn’t buy music legally :O
mr stifffyMemberdepends…. most people honestly…. dont give a shit what the dj is doing
mr stifffyMembervirtual dj is good for beginners getting into the standard deck and mixer setup although traktor might seem harder to understand it is much better once mastered in my honest opinion.
mr stifffyMemberpossibly but its depends on the connections, it says minijack… so possibly a rca to minijack

basically what was happening was, when I adjust the beatgrid markers, the first half of the track would be fine but the markers would all be off for the second half making mixing out difficult.
So what I did was save one version of the track that was marked out correctly for the first half and load that in deck A .. then save the same track but this time with the second half mapped correctly and load it in deck C.
then during a lull point in the track with no beat/bass (trance), I would play C and kill A and mix out of C into B
sorry if that sounds really confusing but it just seemed the easiest thing to do and worked, but I’m going to try what you suggested and turn off sync and try to go for a slower transition and see how that goes.
thx again !
never thought of the idea of having two tracks, I know it would be a bit of work but have you ever tried using a DAW to edit a track, I could imagine this being possible in fruity loops with time stretch…. unless its a song like raise your weapon where it changes genre
mr stifffyMemberoh I kind of get you, I personally never tried to set a beat grid twice (didnt know it was possible) what I used to do what just cue up the next song on my headphones and not use sync, it can be a little tricky and is like the old fasioned way but once you know its lining up if you have quantise on and hit cue point 1 (or whereever you want to start from on the second deck) it will stay on beat and be possible to mix it in. ino this isnt ideal if you want to mix after a drop but maybe mix in on the second phrase after the drop and do a really slow blend… it will make it seem like you were really slowely blending the two and most likely create a seamless transition.
mr stifffyMemberI mix a lot of electro and dubstep and it is all about when to drop the too compliment each other really well… you can go from mellow house to electro to heavy dubstep which usually works amazing 🙂

I know this can help a little in those situations…. sometimes if its a smaller loop traktor will drop it on either the quater or half beat meaning it will trot but with quantise it doesnt allow it….
mr stifffyMembergood idea Phil, im not saying it so that we can disregard beginners, I personally enjoy helping them and teach at a youth centre when I get the chance… I just feel on several sites there are questions asked 100’s of times over and over that a quick search would prevent and then the actual questions can be answered when they arise 🙂
mr stifffyMemberwonder if it would be possible to make a page after you sign up that comes up with stickies to main topics asked…. with articles recommending controllers, mix techniques, software, etc etc…. then a big bold heading saying favorite this page…. 🙂
