    “Winter 2013” is about 8 months away…

You got to take advantage of the sale, but Serato DJ will not support the N4 until then (at least)

I picked up a pair of mint MK2s last year for $700. They had the original boxes/unscratched dust covers/45 adapters etc. The warranty cards were even still in the boxes lol.

I think I got them at a great price.

While you can map the pads/knobs to Traktor, I am pretty sure you will lose the tight integration on the Jogs…

Let me start by saying that I haven’t been able to view the above video yet because I am at work. This may be self explanatory after I view it…

Am i able to “warp” a 124 bpm track to 128 bpm in Ableton and save it? I’m pretty sure the algorithm / keylock abilities in Ableton have to be better than Serato. There are certain tracks that I never play at the actual BPM

Pardon my naivety, but I am still an Ableton novice. I just recently got a launchpad, but have only utilized the drum rack function so far.

Does Mixed in Key edit the ID3 tag of the file itself?

I was considering picking up Platinum Notes until I realized that it does not edit the mp3 itself, but rather applies the algorithms and creates a new file. There wouldn’t be any quality loss if you outputted as a .wav, but I’m not looking to triple the file size of my current library.

I have the KRK Rokit 5 G2s and they are working perfect for my home studio. I actually just picked up a second set for my second vinyl setup. Keep in mind one thing… these produce a totally flat “true” response and I’m not sure how much more low end you would get with the 6s vs the 5s. KRK also sell a sub but it is super expensive for what it is…

I have the DDJ-SX and it is all it is hyped up to be. If you haven’t made the purchase yet I would advise you to wait until the end of January. The winter NAMM show is coming up in January and lots of new stuff will be released. Make your decision once you see everything that is available. Pricing on the DDJ-SX may even drop a little to become more competitive with the other gear.

If you follow Numark’s FB page…they are promoting something huge coming on 1.24.13 that is supposed to “change the DJ industry”…

Take that for what it’s worth, but if I were you I wouldn’t pull the trigger on the DDJ-SX just yet..

I’m a fan of the Odyssey Redline Series bags. I have the BRLDIGITAL2XL for my DDJ-SX and I use the Backspin2 bag for my VCI-300 when I am traveling for work. This would fit the Twitch nicely as well…

You want to use enough pressure to stop the vinyl surface, but allow the platter to continue to spin at its usual speed. This will ensure that when you release the vinyl playback starts immediately instead of having a lag while the platter returns to its usual rpm.

Serato DJ corrects a lot of the issues I had with the Numark NS6, but I sold mine to pick up the Pioneer DDJ-SX
