Pioneer DJ just released Rekordbox DJ to the public. Rekordbox DJ is an add-on Plus Pack to the company’s Rekordbox 4.0 DJ library software that transforms it into a full-on DJ app, letting you perform with it on your laptop. It’s compatible with some of Pioneer DJ’s current DDJ controller line (DDJ-RZ, DDJ-RX, DDJ-SZ, DDJ-SX2, DDJ-SXZ, DDJ-SR, and DDJ-WeGO3), as well as its industry-standard media players (CDJ-2000NXS, CDJ-900NXS, CDJ-2000, CDJ-900, CDJ-850, CDJ-350, and XDJ-1000).
Rekordbox DJ is Pioneer DJ’s entry into the DJ software arena dominated by Traktor, Serato DJ, and Virtual DJ. Pioneer DJ’s gunning for an all-inclusive experience that ties in its hardware with its very own software, forming an all-in ecosystem for DJs. Now you can perform with the same Rekordbox library on your DDJ controller with a laptop as with CDJs and a thumb drive. You also now have the option of taking your laptop to the club, plugging in those CDJs, and performing with Rekordbox DJ – no DVS box necessary.
• Rekordbox DJ is available now for US$129 or US$9.90/month, and comes with a free 30-day trial. Visit the Rekordbox website for more details.
