I love the fact that I can turn up at a club with my flightcase plugin the power and master out and I’m ready to DJ. Any song is just some types on my keyboard to be ready to play. No more sitting at home counting the BMP of vinyls and marking covers with BPM and key. I have it all in front of my eyes on the laptop that also is int that flight case :D.
    Totaly love DDJ’ing

Also like Mixlr although I have just tested it. I have also been a DJ on Virtual DJ radio (works dam good) for 1/2 a year but not everyone gets to play there though. But moved to Traktor so I don’t DJ there any more.

I’ve said that countless times 😀 when I was a teenager from 16 up I only listen to Metal in the more heavy end. And to me it’s like Dubstep is the Trash speed death metal of the new generation.

I spend much time not sure just how much. But for charts I just listen to the new entries on Thursday that’s what I always want up to date top 40 R&B(Urban), Dance, singles that way when the year is over I have I also subscribe to iDJpool and use DMC. through iDJpool I get Billboard hot 100 update every week but many songs become hits only in Europe that never get on Billboard so I have to keep up with UK and Danish charts too. I found that keeping up with all the Dance remixes from iDJpool is close to impossible so I just download the folder for a week at a time then listen trough them alphabetical, if they have offical club or radio version I listen to them first I skip trough the songs fast and they don’t have something catchy they don’t make it to moving to new folder.

why do I hear it so often ? I’ve seen countless youtube videos of people dancing to it. I have a background in Break Dance and Electro boogie so I have no problem with it. Although dancing to dubstep you are not to focus so much on the beat but rather the bass and melodies. Dubstep is not a big thing here in my country but it’s widely accepted though in clubs. I’ve played Skrillex- 10din – skrubz – even some of the new Korn and people going crazy but never more then 2-3 dup tracks at a time. Seams people get tiered of it fast.

one more thing with Virtual DJ their policy is that you pay once and all future updates are free.

No way am I gonna pay to play. I’ve already spent and I’m still spending money on gear and music so no way I’m gonna pay to use my stuff 😀 but I can do a freebie if it’s for a good cause.

Virtual DJ pro should be a good choice it’s has the simplicity you are looking for and can be tailored to do just what you want. If you have a mac you might consider Djay witch is the closes to 2 vinyls and 2 channel mixer out of the box looking software. Traktor will also do the job you can set it to show only 2 decks and how much info you like on screen.

The only people that matter to me are the people coming to my gigs or turning up at the clubs I play. I’m there for them and not the other way around.

most of my music on macbook I use my iMac for downloading from pools and sort the best versions of mixes then transfer them to my laptop and once a month or every 2 weeks I make a back up of the music liberary on laptop nit on iMac because If they get lost I will have the songs I would play backed up and not 1000’s of remixes I won’t play.

Some of his later songs are way to silent long intros with no beats. but whenever I DJ and put on “Titanium” “Without you” or “Turn me on” original version girls fill the floor. Although I usually play a remix or add a beat. I don’t like his new songs that much, but I play them because I get payed to please the crowd.

My DJ software is Traktor Pro 2, and this is why: Because after using it’s the software that is best for the way I like to work. Been using VDJ pro for some time but I feel that Traktor is better when it comes to cue jumping (juggling) It just has a better work flow for my style. I don’t do video mixing but I have setup one computer for karaoke in the upstairs bar at our club and that VDJ is perfect for. Traktor has better FX, waveforms, custom mapping (no need to be a rocket scientist) but the browser in VDJ is by far the best
