Good to see you here FEP. And as usual, I am drooling over my keyboard whenever you set-up is on the screen! 😀
Love it!

If you use a third-party like Ms Pinky, I believe you can take a lot more soundcards to the party. I’d check their website for more info. http://mspinky.com/

You can, you just need The Bridge for Serto or a third-party plug-in like Ms Pinky or similiar.

The dreaded RGAS strikes again…..
jezalenkoMemberIndeed it is, however I find Trakor’s mapping a little easier, as VDJ Script can be a little frustrating at times. I find it annoying not having something working the way I like it, but the beauty of controlerism is that you can make any knob/fader/button do exactly what you want it to do!
Also Tobbish – thanks for the like mate, you should probably check the page out now, it’s been spruced up a bit more. I might actually launch it soon too 🙂
jezalenkoMemberSomebody’s a Technics freak 🙂
Do you use the SL-DZ1200’s much? I hear people rubbishing them quite often.
Also, does anybody know if the RP-DH1200 cans are still made? I only see RP-DJs on sale these days….
jezalenkoMemberDoes she even know what house music is?

Yep, agreed on that one. I probably only use a third of the effects Traktor offers 😛

Good thing you added that, I was about to lambast your opinion!
Clayton, while I’m also of the opinion that Traktor is the superior software, it’s really up to you. While you should try the others, no-one can tell you what is the right (or wrong) software or controller.
What it ultimatly comes down to is – Can do everything you need to do on your current gear? If not, is there a way to re-map it to what you need? If you can’t rock the house with what you’ve got, then more gear wont help you.
But all that said, the X1 with the free TP2 is a great deal, and opens up a lot more options for you. Just try the software first, and if you want to use more thing like samples and chained FX, then the X1 might be for you. Otherwise the Mixtrack might just do the job perfectly fine!
*This is just my personal opinion too!
jezalenkoMemberI’ve been chatting to smiTTTen about this, and he recomends Numark TTX’s – they may be more in your price range.
However, what I’ve heard is that it’s better to spend as much as you can on your turntables, as more $$$=more quality…
jezalenkoMemberAbout a year. I sold my decks (CDJ100s ) after leaving high school, and went traveling. It was only when I got to uni that I found a vibrant scene, (and Phil’s blog!) which spurred me on to give this digital thing a go…

These days, yes. But back then, I was desperate for gigs, and I did whatever it took to get the gig!
jezalenkoMemberMake sure you check out http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/VDJscript – this is the page which taught me how to use it. Also if you type in what kind of command you want into the scripting section, and ususally it’ll come up with a few examples of how to use that command. Also try and copy the structure of other commands, that worked for me.
Try ” crossfader_hamster ” – this inverts the crossfader, it might do the trick.

Cheers mate!)jezalenkoMemberDJ Digital dB, post: 6954 wrote: wat do u mean by riots to music?
Well most of my gigs were at the local community centre, put on by a youth group. Kids would go to the bushes out the back and get drunk/stoned/both/etc. Then they’d come in to the party (where I was playing) and mess stuff up. Basically there was no order whatsoever, so I had to look after myself in there. No bouncers at all.
So just be prepared to have a few big friends handy if you’re doing this in a rough part of town…..
jezalenkoMemberOh, and be prepared to replace your equipment at some point, or buy Pioneer gear. Underage gigs are like riots to music….
