It’s not something I would normally listen to, but I really like it!
pilotmike327MemberI’ve been hearing pretty good things about it so far. michaelrey001@me.com if anyone still has a code.
pilotmike327MemberCheck this thread out: http://www.digitaldjtips.com/forum/threads/traktor-keyboard-mapping.479/
I’ve been using the numbers 1-5 on my keyboard for cue’s on deck A and 6-0 for cue’s on deck B. I’ll just listen to a track and throw the cue’s on the fly where I think would go good. Hope this helps.
pilotmike327Memberhaha, awesomeness! thanks alot Emma.
I just finished going through two 30 min demo sessions with the Traktor demo (which I’m perfectly happy for the time being. I will buy it soon though!) The more I mix songs together, the more I fall in love with this!!!! Slowly but surely i’m learning my tracks inside and out and i’m starting to feel which ones go good together.
Current mood: 😀
pilotmike327MemberGreat thread here. I think Beatport does a pretty decent job with it’s tagging. I remember I had problems with it when I first started out but once I put the songs into iTunes and then opened them in Traktor, everything was there.
And this brings me to my next point: One of the benefits of having a small but efficient library is that you take the time to edit all this information to your liking. In the end, it’s whatever works best for you. Try doing this with +10,000 songs. Possible but very time consuming (unless you use one of those tagging softwares).
pilotmike327MemberReally great posts guys. Will deff take into consideration everything that was said here…and sober!!
pilotmike327MemberThat’s awesome buddy! Glad it went great.
pilotmike327MemberRight now, about $15-20 a week. I’ve just started and want to build my library up rather quickly without buying ridiculous amounts of tracks that I will probably never listen to. Once I have a comfortable amount of tracks I’ll be looking at 1-4 tracks a week (so $15 a month).
pilotmike327MemberUgh, I actually own Ableton Suite! but one of my two licenses was used on my old computer before crashing and I don’t want to use the second until I buy my new one (i’m currently using the family computer to learn to mix with the tracktor pro demo). Will deff. take full advantage of that feature once I get my new mac and reinstall Ableton.
pilotmike327MemberMore competition in the DJ market (or anything for that matter) will lead to stereotypes: “She’s a girl so she’s probably not as good as us; They’re using a controller and not a CDJ/Turntable so they’re not real DJ’s; Dubstep is destroying EDM.”
It’s always going to be around, unfortunately :(.
July 8, 2011 at 7:23 am in reply to: My Guest Spot for Calvin Karass – Brighton Radio Tomorrow ! #3243pilotmike327MemberEmma, I wish you the best of luck with the gig!!!
pilotmike327Member🙁 i totally wasn’t trying to argue. sorry if i came off that way. i understand what you mean though, i would be quite upset to hear the same songs every night (for that i just listen to it at home!). but if you look at major bands that go on tours, a good majority of their tracks are being played at every single concert. they might change a few songs here and there but the crowd is expecting to hear songs that they’re famous for. Of course, not all bands are like this. but most of the bands i’ve seen live work this way.
Then again, rock bands and DJ sets are different things. I come from a rock background so that’s why I have that kind of mentality.
pilotmike327MemberI only followed it because everyone here would constantly talk about it. Verdict was OJ Simpson part 2. Somehow I knew this was going to happen too. Ridiculously publicized trial? Literally, every channel here had something about the trial. Who knows how much money these scumbags made off of this.
pilotmike327MemberEmma Partnow, post: 3098 wrote: Very Much Looking Forward to this Article Phil :);
And the Answer to the Question I am going to ask will Hopefully be in the Article :);
If You (or Anyone Else) has 600 Tracks and play 3 Gigs a Week for 6 Months (even with the ‘One In – One Out System’; bearing in mind that we Can’t Possibly Find Great Tracks Every Day/Week to Replace the Tracks we have – unless we are Verging on the Top 40 DJ); Surely Our Sets would Begin to Sound ‘Familiar’ ?But how is this a bad thing? You can tell an ac/dc song from the familiar guitar sound and song structure, even if the sample of music didn’t feature vocals. My opinion is you might have that ‘familiar’ sound, but if people are constantly enjoying themselves when you’re up spinning, then keep it up! over time you start replacing songs here and there to keep it a bit fresh but you would want people to hear 30-45 mins of a set and be like “omg, this is xxx, he/she’s awesome!!!”
